It feels rather the same the whole game until you get to the Many.īioshock felt nicely detailed, in the sense that I didn't feel like I was walking down a bland hallway with nothing to it. I didn't mean lifeless in the term there's not many lifeforms, I meant, there's not much "life" to the game itself. Infinite ditches its RPG hybrid roots ENTIRELY in favor of a linear shooter. Survival Horror? All gone, here's a cheery, bright setting! Who needs atmosphere and the constant sense of danger when you can have armchair philosophy and forced social commentary! Want to get immersed? Here's an AI companion to constantly annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of you.
The RPG elements? Stripped down to a skeleton crewĮxploration? Search ♥♥♥♥ while walking forward. Infinite is underserving of the "Shock" title. I cant speak for bioshock infinite as I have never played it but I hear its alot better than bioshock 1.
The moral choice system is better, the gunplay/plasmids are better and alot funner to use, hacking is actually quite good and so forth. The gameplay is great fun and has improved most of the faults of the original bioshock. Sure the story isnt as good as infinite or system shock 2 but still atleast it doesnt feel like a re telling of system shock 2's story which exactily what bioshock 1 did. I dont get why bioshock 2 gets so much hate to be honest.
